Ruth Ann Parker

Ruth Ann Parker was born into a musical family. Her father was a Barbershop Harmony Society competition judge. As a child she toured the country along with two sisters and a brother as the Singing Brocks performing on the same stage with the Chordettes, Buffalo Bills and many other prominent quartets of the day.

As an adult she has sung baritone in several prominent Sweet Adeline quartets, most notably the Hurricane Honeys, International Champions from Miami. The Honeys won at Carnegie Hall and appeared multiple times on the Jackie Gleason weekly television show.

She has directed five different Sweet Adeline choruses in international competition, including co-directing the Richtones to one of their championships. She is a certified master 700 chorus director. In the spring of 2014 she directed the Houston Horizon chorus to the Region 10 championship.

She is a certified Sweet Adeline judge in both Showmanship and Sound categories. She served as Showmanship Category Specialist for eight years and is currently the Sound Category Specialist. She is a sought after coach for both quartets and choruses.
